Featuring hand-painted floral motifs and gold-colored accents, this delightful set of three colorful bull figurines will brighten your home decor. Artisan Maribel Posso Olivares of Peru designs the black, light blue, and scarlet bulls, combining both Spanish and Peruvian styles. She was inspired to craft these figurines by the myth of the torito de Pucarà.
The myth of the torito de Pucarà, or the Pucara bull, tells the story about Pucara, a drought-ridden village that decided to sacrifice a bull in order to bring rain. On its way up to be sacrificed, the bull resisted, piercing the side of a mountain with its horn, creating a flood of water from the mountainside that brought great joy to the village people.
