Intronisation Royale 85" x 43" Original Painting
This painting depicts the choice and enthronement of a new ming in some African regions. At the death of a ruler, his successor is not chosen randomly but with consultation of the Fâ.
The FÂ is simultaneously science and divinity, ruling over humans' destiny, like a book open on the past, the present and the future teaching mankind its profound links with nature, while spreading through tales and allegories a profound existential wisdom.
Consulting the fâ is therefore essential in designating a ruler's successor since only it can see through tha past, present and future to highlight the choice of the gods and ancestors.
After his designation, the new king will be anointed in his new role. The enthronement is a solemn event. It is carried out in presence of many wisepeople, various dignitaries of the fâ as well as other kings in a set of grand rituals.
