Rhinoceros sculpture handcarved in teak. Beautiful product of african art inspired by wildlife.
There are unfortunately few wild animals left in Senegal, partly because of desertification and human action; the last lion is reported to have been killed in 1905. Private initiatives such as the Bandia reserve have allowed reintroducing species which had completely disappeared in Senegal, notably the Wanga Langa Rhinoceros.
